About the Authors

Natalie Newgard

Hi, my name is Natalie Newgard and I am coauthor and co creator of this website. I am currently a junior at Bethel University pursuing a major in nursing. After graduation, I would like to be a nurse in pediatrics or obstetrics. My prior experience in the health care field includes two years at a nursing home working on a Alzheimer's and dementia unit. I am really excited that nursing will allow me to continue my experience in caring for others.

I became interested in the topic of technology and nursing education after my experiences with simulation during my first semester in the nursing program. Simulation is becoming a key part of the nursing education at Bethel as well as many other nursing programs around the world. What Danielle and I hope to capture through our website is to look at the overall strengths and weaknesses of technology used in nursing education. We hope that through our site others will be able to contemplate their own opinion and also be willing to share it with us on our website.

Danielle Neuberger

My name is Danielle Neuberger and I am a junior at Bethel University.  Natalie and I created this site with the intention of giving people an opportunity to learn about and share their ideas about nursing education and the relationship it holds with technology.  I have been accepted into Bethel's nursing program and will begin courses  fall of 2009.  Although I have not started the program, I have significant training in health care.  I work at a group home for mentally and physically disabled adults, as well and with a six year-old girl with severe Cerbreal Pasley.  In my position, I work closely with nurses on a regular basis.

I look forward to my time in the program and future experiences with simulation throughout my education.  Learning from and with Natalie has taught me a trememdous amount about integration of technology in the education of nurses.  Different nursing programs have various levels of technological advancement, and researching them has been quite interesting.  Please share your experiences on this subject with us, we love learning about it!
